I'm Katy, the artist behind everything you see here. YOUR OKANAGAN FAMILY & COUPLES PHOTOGRAPHER. My photography journey started out as the stereotypical "mom just wanting to take more pictures of her kid", but I then discovered that it was way more than that. it was a creative outlet, and It was for me. I do all of this to fuel the fire in my soul and extend my heart. Over the years i've learned that not everyone is going to love the art that you produce, and that's ok. Your vibe attracts your tribe, and that's why you're here! I used to be well known for my bold and colourful edits, but to me, colourful signifies happiness and joy. in my life, I'm not always joyful. I struggle with a lot of anxiety and depression, and my work is a reflection of who i am. As i took a journey of re-discovery  through my work, i knew i needed to change everything about the way i run my sessions, my business name, the styling, the inspiration i'm pulling from, and how i edit. so i began encouraging families to break down their walls, breathe, let go, and show up in whatever phase of life they're in. I've captured clients through strained relationships, families with drifting dynamics, who have faced loss, trauma, and families who are also in a great place celebrating who they are as a whole. it is all welcome, and i transform your truth by romanticizing your stage in life by focusing on connection over perfection, emotive prompts, and all things that make us vulnerably human. although i will always love the work i produced in the past with colour, the place i'm at in life is calling me to stop drowning out all of the emotion with colour, and to simplify everything with brown and golden tones, hints of grit from grain, and embrace more cinematic feels.
